This limited-edition Recaro seat celebrates the Le Mans 24hr race
Recaro, long a purveyor of really rather fine racing seats, is celebrating its 60th anniversary of building really rather fine racing seats with a new really rather fine road-legal racing seat.
This one has been built in honour of the Le Mans 24hr race, long a purveyor of really rather fine racing and which in a few days’ time will celebrate its 100th anniversary. As such, this glass-fibre limited edition is apparently an “officially licensed product of 24H Le Mans”.
Which means for the sum of €3,324 (about S$5k) – presumably per seat – you too can pretend to be a Le Mans hot shoe in your mediumly-grey GenericCrossover. As mentioned, it’s road-legal, gets a glass-fibre shell, is FIA-approved and comes in two grades: a ‘GF M’ with 20mm of padding for “medium-build drivers”, and a ‘GF L’ that features 10mm of padding for “larger-build drivers”.
The seat features blue leather, black microfibre and the most important part of owning a Recaro Le Mans-spec race seat: the words ‘Recaro’ and ‘24H Le Mans’ stitched in white on the headrest.
“We are excited to develop new seating technology for the new generation of racers whose exploits will define the next 100 years of the 24 Hours of Le Mans,” said Nicole McElroy, Recaro’s global VP of product development.
