The Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce puts the 'Super' in Supercar...

22nd April 2015, Singapore - The Lamborghini Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce, the latest exotic to stem from the Bolognese-based outfit, was presented at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Singapore, with the brand's rockstar CEO and President, Mr. Stephan Winkelmann in attendance.

The Raging Bull is looking to capitalise on a recent wave of sales locally, where it has sold 250 units of its high-end vehicles over the last 5 years and is targeting to sell 40 units of its vehicles by the end of this year. The Aventador Superveloce, or SV, will be a limited production model, with only 600 units to ever be made ' according to the good Lambo folks, 400 have already been snapped up.

Image 1 StephanWinkelmann'Today is a milestone event for Automobili Lamborghini as we pay homage to the original Aventador with the new Aventador Superveloce. The original Aventador was presented to Singapore four years ago, and the fervor from passionate owners and fans from Singapore and around the world resulted in the biggest commercial success ever of a Lamborghini V12 super sports car. Now, Automobili Lamborghini continues to push boundaries in terms of performance and pure driving emotion with the Aventador Superveloce which we expect will be well-received in Singapore,' said Mr Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini.

The term 'Superveloce' literally means 'high speed' or 'super fast' in Italian, aptly  summing up what the new car is all about. Lambo's latest is a dynamically uprated version of its base model, the Aventador LP 700-4 coupe, and packs a performance punch that should allow the SV to challenge the laws of physics.

Beneath the hood lies a 6.5-litre V12 engine that delivers a whopping 750bhp and 690Nm, or 50bhp more than the LP 700-4, which will propel it from 0-100km/h in a mere 2.8 seconds before blazing onwards to 350km/h and beyond. Fuel efficiency stands at 16.7l/100km along with CO2 emissions figures of 370g/km.

On paper, the range-topping Aventador Superveloce betters the performance of last generation's Murcielago Superveloce, with the predecessor's V12 producing 'just' 670bhp and 660Nm. To put the new car's performance in perspective, the Murcielago Superveloce went from nought to 100km/h in 3.2 seconds before hurtling on to a top speed of 342km/h ' the Aventador SV is 0.4 seconds faster in the blitz to 100km/h and faster at the top end.

20 units of the Murcielago SV reached our local shores, and although it is still unclear how many units of the Aventador SV we'll be getting, we're told a handful of local orders have already been placed.

With such performance figures on hand, the latest 'Raging Bull' is threading on the verge of hypercar territory and is within spitting distance of hyperexotics, such as the Pagani Huayra (also sold by EuroSports Auto) for instance. Against the Huayra, the Superveloce completes the century sprint 0.4 seconds quicker and possesses an additional 50bhp. (2.8 seconds vs 3.2 seconds and 750bhp vs 700bhp).

The Superveloce weights 50kg less than the LP 700-4 at 1,525kg, Thanks to the extensive use of lightweight carbonfibre in the construction of its body, the SV is 50kg lighter than the normal Aventador and tips the scales at a smidged over 1.5-tonnes.

The Aventador SV is on sale through EuroSports for S$1.888m w/o COE (the base model Aventador retails for $1.588m without COE), with deliveries of pre-booked units starting from September 2015 onwards. - STORY: EUGENE NG / PHOTOS: LAMBORGHINI
