The BMW M3 Touring is the fastest ever estate around the Nürburgring
You won’t be surprised to hear that the BMW M3 Touring is set to be a little bit quick. In fact, it’s now officially the quickest estate car ever to lap the Nürburgring, having set a time of 7m 35.060s. Speedy.
You can watch BMW’s own video of the attempt by clicking these blue words, although we’re only treated to a few onboards of Jörg Weidinger on his lap and a fair bit of waffle. Still, BMW has now confirmed that the world premiere of the wagon-we’ve-all-been-waiting-for will happen at the Goodwood Festival of Speed next week. Exciting times.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, the camo’d up car used for the record lap looks to be painted in that glorious Isle of Man Green underneath the wrap, with a black and very brave orange interior.
There’s also confirmation that the Touring will get the Curved Display from the facelifted 3 Series – which includes a 12.3-inch driver display that merges into a 14.9-inch infotainment unit.
Quick time for an estate, no?
