Novitec has given the McLaren GT 707hp

The McLaren GT’s 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine is really rather special. With 620hp and 630Nm of torque on tap, Woking’s grand tourer will hit 100km/h from a standstill in 3.2 seconds and will run on to a top speed of 325km/h.

Many people (including us, guilty) have questioned whether the GT really is a genuine GT, but German tuner Novitec just doesn’t care about your reservations.

We know this because Novitec’s new upgrade package for the GT includes sport springs that drop the ride height by 25mm as well as an aero-optimised carbonfibre body kit, a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system and an ECU remap that can provide as much as 707hp and 714Nm of torque. If it wasn’t before, this is definitely a supercar now.

The power and aero upgrades allow the mid-engined McLaren to reach 100km/h in 3.0 seconds flat and give it a new top speed of 333km/h, whilst also apparently improving cooling to the engine and front brakes.

The bare carbon bits look rather nice too, don’t they? And what do we think of the forged Vossen wheels? Those are 20s on the front and 21s at the back by the way.

That’s about it folks, although Novitec also says it’ll customise the interior of your GT in just about any colour of leather or Alcantara. Like it?
