Karts n’ cars! MINI Getaway is back!

Johor Bahru, Malaysia, 4 November 2022 - Fridays are the best days to take off from work, and that is what 41 MINI customers did! 

MINI Getaway 2022 is the first one since the pandemic struck. Things for this year were kept short and sweet… as short as things were wrapped-up within a day.

We took off from the MINI Habitat along Leng Kee Road in the wee hours of the morning. A total of 22 MINIs in all shapes and sizes, set-off toward the second link.

What lay ahead was a bit of friendly competition at RUD Karting, in Johor Bahru. While we were thankful for the cool morning drive, it had rained the night before, and the karting circuit was all slippery and slidey. This proved to be a challenge during a practice session, where a sensitive right foot made all the difference between taking a corner, or becoming part of it.

A good breakfast later, things got a little more serious, as qualifying rounds began taking place. Out of 38 karting participants, the field was whittled down to just 10 of the best drivers.

Sadly, us media peeps were not allowed into the race!

At the end of the event, and before we took-off for lunch, we had a must-have drone shot capturing participating cars, lined-up in formation.
