Singapore - Effective 1 October 2020, Claudius Steinhoff will succeed Philipp Hagenburger as the Chief Executive Officer of Daimler South East Asia.

Outgoing chief Philipp Hagenburger’s career with the firm has spanned two decades, where he’s held management roles in Germany, Romania, Egypt and Singapore.

“Singapore is the perfect place to mark the close of my career at Daimler and Mercedes-Benz. Together, the local team here and I overcame many challenges to put Mercedes-Benz in a strong position that I’m confident it will continue to operate from under Claudius’ leadership,” says Philipp Hagenburger, outgoing Chief Executive Officer of Daimler South East Asia. “The memories I’ve created with our team, partners and customers here are ones that I will cherish even as I embark on the next chapter of my career and life,” he added.

Prior to his appointment to the CEO role, the early-30-something Claudius was most recently the Executive Assistant to the Head of Region Overseas Mercedes-Benz Cars, where he has amassed the experience in driving success for the brand in overseas markets.

“Singapore is one of the most unique places in the world to own, sell and market a car. The fact that Mercedes-Benz continues to enjoy immense popularity among car owners here is testament to the strength of our brand and vehicle lineup. I look forward to contributing to the three-pointed star’s success here and to take Mercedes-Benz to its next stages of growth in Singapore,” said Claudius Steinhoff.
