Singapore - Mercedes-Benz fires a salvo into the heart of the electric SUV/crossover segment with the all-electric EQC, the first model of the Mercedes-EQ sub-brand to be launched in Singapore.

Priced between S$304,888 and S$322,888 for the EQC 400 4MATIC Electric Art and EQC 400 4MATIC AMG Line respectively, the EQC is expected to take on the likes of the Audi e-tron and BMW iX, with the latter expected to arrive here by the end of 2021.

The EQC 400 produces a total combined output of 408hp and 760Nm, and returns an electric range of up to 423 km (NEDC), which is plenty for a city-state like Singapore that measures about 50km from east to west.

“Since our invention of the automobile in 1886, Mercedes-Benz has been obsessed with delivering progress. Along this same vein, we are excited to enter into a new era with the EQC. The EQC combines human-centered innovations and an emission-free drive experience without compromising any of the qualities our customers can rightfully expect from Mercedes-Benz.” said Mr. Claudius Steinhoff, President and CEO, Mercedes-Benz Singapore.

“The definition for progress in today’s context necessitates a future-fixated mindset that guarantees longevity for generations to come. The EQC is the newest manifestation of our commitment to delivering progress in this new era, and we’re delighted we can now offer our customers in Singapore the opportunity to be amongst the first-movers toward a greener tomorrow,” he added.
