Best cars in music videos

By jaytee, 30 June 2021

Everyone loves exotic cars right? Well, music artists certainly do. Many of them have gone out of their way to feature some of the most exotic, eye-waveringly expensive and delightful cars in their music videos. Hell, some artists have even appeared in advertisements for new car launches. And these days, you’d be hard-pressed to find a song that has no mention of “Lambos” or Ferraris or “Bentley”. Here are just some of these exotics that have made cameos in music videos.

Drake: Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6

Personally, Drake is one of my favourite artists. He knows a thing or two about cars and has impeccable taste. So imagine my shock when the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 appeared in the music video of his hit single, “Laugh Now Cry Later”. Boggles my mind how Drake managed to wrangle both the cabriolet and coupé right at the intro. But hey, October’s Very Own deserves the very best.

Rick Ross: Aston Martin

Rick Ross absolutely loves his Aston Martins, and his 2010 track titled “Aston Martin Music” is a testament to that. Featuring an Aston Martin DBS Volante, an Aston Martin Rapide set against the Miami skyline, with guest artist Drake belting out vocals. Boss.

The Weeknd: Classic Mercedes-Benz SL (and many others)

The Weeknd really pulled out all the stops on this one. A fantastic live performance of his hit single “Save Your Tears” involving a convoy of cars moving in sync around him as he dances around an empty lot. The convoy consisted of a large number of classic Mercedes-Benz SL Cabriolets and a whole slew of other cars even I don’t recognise. All that for his live performance on the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. Kudos to him, that video ought to go down in history as one of the best live performances ever.
