Many of us have heard of Elenor, the infamous Ford Mustang Fastback that graced the silver screen in the Gone in 60 seconds film from 2000. Less notorious was the 1973 Ford Mustang that appeared in the original 1974 movie. That Mustang was the star of the longest car chase scene of any movie to date, clocking in at 40 minutes of destruction and mayhem through Californian streets.

It’s been 47 years since the original film and 21 years since the reboot starring Nicholas Cage was released. But what if the movie was made in this day and age? Would the cars be different? Some of the classics collector’s cars from the 2000 film would remain, but most of the cars would see modern counterparts. So in painfully long detail, here is my take on the list of 50 cars if that iconic movie sees a modern reboot.

And finally, the 50th car on the gang’s list: Eleanor. Originally a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT 500, we think Eleanor deserves to be a modern Shelby GT350 Mustang. With a stick. And the iconic red “GO BABY GO” button on the shifter knob. But the 1967 Mustang Fastback would do just fine.
